A chance to see England through French eyes is being offered at a photographic exhibition in Ledbury.

The pictures are the work of student Claire-Lise Noe, who has spent more than a year living with the Green family in Pendock while working at Chris Pattison's nursery.

After being given a camera as a birthday present, the 21-year-old decided to record her stay by taking a series of photographs of the local landscape and people.

The images include the classic red telephone box, a robin, a Land Rover on farmland and the Malvern Hills at sunset.

They will be on show at Ledbury Heritage Centre in an exhibition entitled 'My Year in Angleterre', from Sunday (July 4) to Sunday, July 18.

"If people want to see the country through the eyes of a French person, that's what it will be. It's all fascinating and different and I like to photograph the difference," she said.

Claire-Lise grew up in Normandy and became involved in the family garden centre at an early age.

She went on to study horticulture and hopes her experience at the nursery and in Canada, which she will visit in September, will help her develop new initiatives for the business.

She is enjoying rural life and said: "It's great, I've met lots of people. It's not so different from Normandy.

"Every time I can, I go to British Camp. I love the bluebells there."

Claire-Lise is also enjoying the weather at the moment.

"I really like the summer here because the weather's nice and I like all the open gardens. I've been going round one every Sunday."
