BOHINTA are a serious folk band.
The voices of brother and sister, Martin and Aine Furey, melded beautifully together for a gig last Thursday.
Guitarist Robin Hurt and percussionist Gary Low added their symbiotic melodies to make the whole very attractive listening.
My criticism would be aimed toward the very serious tone of the music. While professional and accomplished, it lacked upbeats so that nobody danced.
A rather serious audience added to a gagged atmosphere by voicing stern disapproval of background chatting.
All in all it wasn't the usual good cheer experienced at the Great Malvern Club.
