AFTER such expensive chaos and delays, I think the public deserve an explanation from the authorities as to why the decaying arches at Upton bridge could not have been mechanically jacked up until the diversionary road could be completed?
Most of us locals are really baffled as to why such, to my mind, 'playing too safe' single lane reinforcements were put in place?
The bridge is fine - it wasn't an over the water danger at all
