Following Norman Rice's comments (Your Letters, June 11), there are a couple of points which I feel have not been mentioned in all the past letters on the subject of the music at Malvern Priory.
Firstly, and slightly cynically, in the era of spin and PR campaigns, was Norman Rice's letter sent in to encourage all the supporters of the work done at the Priory to emphasise how much is done that can be seen and also behind the scenes. If so, it has worked, as this topic has run and run.
Secondly, and of course more importantly, should we not forget whose house this is. Therefore, it takes a brave man to judge and criticise the music as "dumbing down".
Surely, those involved in every way will be judged not by another man's comments but by the Lord who will see and hear not just what we may hear, but also will see what is in their hearts and souls. Are they in tune with the Lord's? This is not for us to answer but perhaps more importantly to take heed. Let those who worship at the Priory (and all the other churches in Malvern) do so for the glory of God and not for us men.
