COLWALL won this rain-effected Catley Staite Sunday League Division One match by 12 runs as Eastnor chased an adjusted total of 199 to win from 36 overs.
COLWALL v EASTNOR
Colwall started poorly with four quick wickets falling. Tim Riley with help from Jonty Hylands, Rhys Davey and Nicky Panniers steadied the ship, and took advantage of a generous total of 57 extras.
Riley went on to score an assured century having guided Colwall past 200.
First team skipper Tom Wolfendale was selected to bowl and his spell of seven overs was economical if not threatening.
Fourth team bowler Dee Lannie showed him how it should be done picking up two wickets in a spell made difficult by a wet ball.
Eastnor looked dead and buried needing nearly ten an over but Chris Ferriera took on the challenge in spirited style.
He raced to 50 and seemed to have swayed the game back Eastnor's way before one big shot too many saw Wolfendale take a comfortable catch from the off spin of Rhys Davey.
Mike King wrapped up the tail and Colwall's young team departed victorious.
