BUSINESS leaders in Hereford and Worcester have backed the Government's new enterprise initiative for young people.
Chancellor Gordon Brown has launched the Make Your Mark campaign aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship.
The initiative will culminate in Enterprise Week in November and the Hereford and Worcester Chamber of Commerce is helping organise a range of activities to help push entrepreneurship with students and young people.
The Chamber is part of a wider team made up of agencies and bodies across the West Midlands which deal both with businesses and youngsters.
It will organise a series of events with local schools, hold roadshows, offer support and advice and highlight enterprising activity in the Hereford and Worcester area.

Christine Jones, chief executive of the Chamber, said the aim of the group was to make sure the Government's initiative made a telling difference in the region.
"I think everyone will be pleased that the Government is backing the fostering of an entrepreneurial spirit among the young - be it in business, education or the community," she said.
"The overriding thrust of the campaign is to make the UK the best place in the world to start and grow a business.
"Our local initiative will encourage and showcase start-up business activity by young people, as well as enterprising activity within their own environments."
