BROMSGROVE Rovers have released their former Wolves and Birmingham City defender Kevin Ashley.
The 31-year-old, who has spent two seasons at the Victoria Ground, has been let go as manager Steve Daley begins his rebuilding process for next season.
Chief executive Pat Bannister said: "By mutual agreement we have decided he can be released."
Meanwhile, Rovers bid for a place in the Worcester Royal Infirmary Senior Cup final tonight when they entertain Pegasus Juniors (7.45).
Defender John Humphreys is doubtful with an ankle injury but Rovers expect to field a strong side against their Hellenic League opponents.
Rovers expect to include teenage star Patrick Bannister, who broke into the first team aged 15 earlier this season. He is due to sign a professional contract with Derby County in July but has been given the go-ahead to turn out for Rovers for the rest of this season.
Bannister added: "Pegasus will certainly be up for it, but it will be nice for us to reach a cup final. We just want to finish the season as reasonably as we can."
The winners will play Stourport Swifts in the final.
