BEWDLEY Rugby Club have joined forces with Stourport thirds this season to allow both parties to raise a team.
With Bewdley struggling with numbers in previous season, the merger is seen as the best way forward.
The team, which will only play friendly fixtures, will alternate between venues with some home games being played at Bewdley Leisure Centre and others at Walshes Meadow.
One match will be played under the banner of Bewdley in their kit and with their captain Darren Harker wearing the armband.
The following week they will go under the name of Stourport third wearing that kit and with Stourport's Tim Wilkins (check) leading the team.
Bewdley chairman Alan Banks said the merger was agreed upon because both teams had problems recruiting and holding onto players.
He said: "We both found that our player base was dropping but we still had players who wanted to play so hopefully this arrangement will suit everyone."
