A BREAST cancer awareness day in Droitwich was a resounding success as women poured through the doors to learn about the disease.
The day was hosted by the Droitwich Spa Area Forum for Older People in the town's One Stop Shop and offered women a range of advice, including how to examine themselves and what to do if they find a lump.
There was also a radiographer from the breast screening unit on hand to speak to people about concerns.
Sheila Neary, from the forum, said: "It was such a well-attended event. I'm glad that women took the time to come along. Throughout the day we had queues of people waiting to have a chat and we were also offering coffee.
"We even had women who have had the operation and survived breast cancer coming in to chat about how they got through it."
From December, women will receive breast screening reminders up until the age of 70, and those over that age can also make appointments if they have concerns, by calling the Bromsgrove Breast Screening Unit on 01527 488055.
