HOUSEHOLDERS are being warned by Redditch police to take extra care with their home security following a burglary in Hillmorton Close between midnight and 8am on Friday.
Thieves went into the house and stole a wallet and a school bag while the occupants were still in their home.
A police spokesman said: "We are appealing to anyone with information regarding this burglary to get in touch.
"We are also reminding people to ensure their homes are properly secure, remembering to close any windows and lock any external doors before leaving the house or going to bed at night.
"Whereas many older doors lock automatically as they are shut, many of the new uPVC-type doors need to be locked from the inside with a key and we would remind people to be extra vigilant if they have these type of doors."
Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Redditch police on 08457 444 888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
