A RECORD number of happy townsfolk got on the buses last Sunday to celebrate the centenary of the Midland Red bus company.
Fourteen-hundred people from all over the country came to Wythall's Birmingham and Midland Museum of Transport to mark the 100 years anniversary.
"This was the biggest Midland Red bus display seen at Wythall," said Malcolm Keeley, one of the Chapel Lane museum's trustees. We were astonished by the amount of people who turned out for it."
Now the museum is closed for the winter but the centenary celebrations will continue next summer, when it reopens, with a big event on July 31.
