POLICE are seeking information after three men got into a taxi in Rubery and threatened the driver with a knife.

The appeal follows two similar incidents in Redditch where taxi drivers were threatened.

In the first incident, last Saturday at 3.45am, a taxi driver from Birmingham picked up three men from Deelands Road in Rubery and drove them to Batchley in Redditch.

The driver was asked to stop the car in Willow Way when the man in the passenger seat threatened him with a knife and stole his mobile phone, cash and car keys. The thieves then got out of the car and ran off towards Batchley pond.

At 7am the same morning, a similar incident happened to a taxi driver from Redditch, who returned three men to Deelands Road in Rubery.

No one was hurt in either incident.

The man with the knife is described as white, 20-years-old, five feet eight inches to five feet ten inches tall with a medium build.

He was clean-shaven with brown hair and was wearing a baseball cap, a dark tracksuit and trainers.

The second man is white, 19-20-years-old, five feet eight inches to five feet nine inches tall with a medium build.

He had short brown hair and was wearing a baseball cap, tracksuit and trainers.

The third offender is described as a white male, in his late teens to early 20s, five feet seven to five feet eight inches tall with a medium to stocky build.

He is believed to have short ginger hair and was wearing a baseball cap, tracksuit and trainers.

Police are linking the incidents.
