PEDESTRIANS can now get from A to B safely thanks to a new pelican crossing.
Worcestershire county councillors Pam Davey and Peter Pinfield, who both represent Droitwich, officially opened the new crossing at the junction of Tagwell Road and Dovecote Road.
Cllr Davey (Con-Droit Central) said: "With considerable increase in traffic using Tagwell Road, over the past years, this crossing has become ever more necessary for both young and old.
"I am delighted after much campaigning it has now been installed by the county council."
Cllr Davey said crossing had been made possible through money set aside by property developers Barratt West Midlands. She said she would now like to see a similar crossing at other end of the pathway in the Primsland estate area.
Cllr Pinfield (Lab-Droit West) added: "I am very pleased that this important crossing has been completed.
"I'm sure that it will be of great benefit to children on their way to school as well as to the residents, both local and from the new estates further afield, wishing to use the park or go into town."
