AN embittered picket line of women workers has vowed to stay on strike over claims for a closed shop.

The Auto Springs strikers had been expected to work after the national engineers' dispute finished.

But they have now decided to stay out in protest at non-union labour brought in to keep production going during the national series of two-day strikes.

They walked out six weeks ago and are refusing to return to work until all the non-union workers employed during the strike leave the firm.

The strikers are continuing heavy picketing at the Moons Moat factory and regional union representatives were trying to arrange a meeting with management.
