GOSPEL singers, a Reggae artist and a host of entertainers have been drafted in to perform at an event to raise money for the hurricane victims in Jamaica.
The Descendants of Windrush, the Community Relations Council, the black community and Redditch Council have joined forces for the fundraiser on Saturday at the town hall.
Redditch has a friendship link with St Elizabeth in Jamaica, which was struck when Hurricanes Charley and Ivan hit the island.
Descendants of Windrush chairman Veronica Allen said: "A majority of the black people in Redditch come from St Elizabeth.
"I was there when hurricane Charley struck the island in August and St Elizabeth was the worst hit.
"Most people at the time lost their crops and possessions. Houses were flooded, roads were damaged and one person died.
"It was just total devastation. They had no means of replacing these items because they don't have insurance."
Former Redditch Mayor Madge Tillsley was visiting the island for the first time in 30 years last month when Ivan struck.
Tickets for the event on Saturday, which will run from 7.30-11.30pm and will include Caribbean food and a raffle, cost £10 and can be bought by calling 67427 or 07952 275352.
Anyone who would like to make a donation can make cheques payable to South St Elizabeth Hurricane Appeal Fund or Halifax, sort code 11-11-34 Account number 00505156 Re: D/94582361-2.
