THE police could be drafted in to move travellers from their temporary camp in Oversley Green as the dispute over land ownership has still not been resolved.
More than 30 irate residents turned up to an Alcester Town Council meeting to find out how far the authority has got with the problem.
They said they have had enough of the apparent inaction and demanded the council takes stronger action to resolve the dispute with Warwickshire County Council so the legal process could begin.
County councillor Susan Juned said through research and legal advice, she had found three possible routes but a fourth and by far the fastest way would be to ask the police to take action.
Mrs Juned said: "The police have powers to move them on but they have taken the position they will not use them and give responsibility to the county and district councils.
"But in a case like this, when we need a quick enforcement, this is the only route we can take.
