RETAILER JJB Sports today said talks about a potential £600m takeover of the group had ended.
The Wigan-based company - which has branches in Worcester and Kidderminster - said its board had concluded that the takeover approach had been "unlikely to lead to an offer that would reflect the fair value of the company".
"Accordingly, discussions with the potential bidder have terminated," JJB said in a statement.
Although JJB did not identify the interested party, it was reported to be equity group Cinven.
