ST PETER'S parish councillors are calling for road safety measures to be put in place on one area of the estate where they claim a number of residents have had "near misses".
Parish councillor Paul Thorlby said residents had approached him saying there were two problems by the Tesco roundabout on St Peter's Drive.
"There is a problem with cars that want to go from St Peter's Drive into Queenswood and cars trying to turn out of Tesco," he said.
"Also, there is no pedestrian crossing even though there are drop-down kurbs.
"People are dodging the traffic to get across these two roads."
The council is now writing to city council engineers to invite them to give some options as to what safety measures can be put in place.
