TOURIST information on tap all year round is just one of the ideas behind plans to extend Tenbury's library.

Malvern Hills District and Worcestershire County Councils are teaming up for the proposals for an extension to the Teme Street building as part of an overall strategy to boost the Worcestershire Hub. The hub is the concept of an access point to all county and district services, providing help and information on public services, transport, council tax and tourism from a shared data base.

Several customer centres across the county's six districts and other organisations are being added to the hub and E-Government manager at Worcester, Rachel Hill said: "We have been looking at options to enable us to make better use of the facilities at Tenbury library.

"It will become much clearer after a meeting in November." In July last year, a customer service centre opened in Malvern's library and the Tenbury proposals are along similar lines.
