KIDDERMINSTER put their opening day rollercoaster result behind them and settled into their stride with two encouraging results in the West Midlands Premier League.
An 8-8 draw with Stone had left skipper Andy Pocknell wondering what type of season his side were in for. But they have responded well by winning 4-2 at Stratford and earning a 3-3 home draw with Warwick.
Goals from Pocknell, Paul Grummitt and Matt Edwards (2) sealed victory against much-fancied Stratford.
Despite early pressure, Stratford could not penetrate a resolute back four marshalled by the superb Martin Roberts in goal and Kidderminster soon did the damage at the other end.
Kidderminster went in their home match with Warwick with confidence despite losing to them home and away last season.
They were unable to stop Warwick dominating the first half and a deft Andy Pocknell finish was their only reply to three Warwick goals.
But they came out fighting after the break and an excellent strike by Paul Edwards got them back into the game.
They grabbed the equaliser shortly after when good pressure on the Warwick "D" allowed Paul Grummitt to score. Kidderminster hope to maintain their form when they travel to high-flying Wednesbury on Saturday.
The fourths lost their second Fathoms match 2-1 to Bournville despite an improved performance with Norman Lamb getting the goal from a penalty corner.
