SAMURAI Judo Club's success in kata continues after Amy Millington,12, and Hannah Cooper, 15, took gold in the junior section of the British National Kata Championships.

Despite their tender ages and the fact they are only yellow belts, they have been learning kata, a formal set of moves designed for adult black belts.

They spent weeks before the national championships at High Wycombe practicing the kata which involves 15 moves, each demonstrated while in motion, to both left and right sides, with precise grips and positions.

Samurai have now won three successive junior golds at the nationals, following Ben Newbury and Benji Connor and Tom Walker and Greg Oertel. The latest success makes them the most successful junior kata club in Great Britain.
