REIGNING champions Invincibles picked up where they left off in the Gilt Edge Short Mat Bowls League.
They edged a tight tussle against last year's runner-up Tornadoes to go top.
Before the clash, both teams had started well with Invincibles winning their first three games and Tornadoes dropping just two points.
The first half of their showdown was a brilliant tactical game with the Tornadoes shading it 7-5.
But in the second half, Invincibles came back strong taking it 15-5.
That win puts them top of the table on 22 points with Tornadoes second on 19, while Telly Tubbies move into third place.
Wribbenhall are another team who have got off to a good start. They beat Just for Fun 18-17 and are now in the top five just five points behind the leaders.
The new season has seen the arrival of two new sides, the Breakaways and One for the Road, who were faring very differently after three games.
One for the Road went off like a train leading the table with maximum points while the Break-aways were searching for their first win.
But the wheels came off for One for the Road were comprehensively beaten 29-6 by the Telly Tubbies.
The Breakaways are still struggling to find their feet following another defeat, this time 27-9 to Squirrel.
In the first four games there have already been two Hot Shot 6s scored, with the Untouchables boasting the first of the season and Tornadoes claiming the other.
