WORCESTER WOMEN 1sts 5 SUNDERLAND 5
KATE Draper scored four times as Worcester salvaged their first National Hockey League point after trailing 4-1 at half time.
Draper was on target once in the first-half and three more times after the break to complete a dramatic turnaround in a game of two very different halves.
Nothing went the hosts' way in the first-half and they found themselves 4-1 down with Draper deflecting home the only goal from a good short corner routine.
Newly promoted Worcester, still without a win this season, made several changes at the break and these paid dividends. Substitute Becky Adams came on up front to find the net after good passing between Elaine Shepperd and Draper.
Worcester then began to play with purpose and determination, resulting in Draper's treble.
However, any hopes of turning their comeback into victory were dashed as Sunderland also managed a second-half goal of their own.
Worcester travel to Wimbledon in their next match.

Stourport restored their two-goal advantage just five minutes later before Worcester got a third in the closing seconds when Jo Walker coolly dispatched a penalty flick following a deliberate push.

Worcester scored nine goals on their travels for the second week running, thanks to hat-tricks for Anne-Marie Lye and Libby Hayes.
Throughout the first half, Worcester, now with 20 goals in three matches, piled on the pressure and their hard work paid off after 15 minutes when debutant Lye opened the scoring.
A second soon followed as Libby Hayes slotted past the 'keeper. Hayes then bagged her second following a pass from sister Claire. Another debutante, Cheryl Senior, added the the fourth following a rebound off the 'keeper.
The match did not all go Worcester's way as a lapse in marking allowed Bournville onto the score sheet before the break.
Worcester were quick to add to their tally in the second-half. Lye scored two further goals to complete her hat-trick.
Hayes sealed her treble moments later.
Bournville continued to fight and their persistence paid off with a goal from a short corner. With Worcester players staying up field, the hosts seized their opportunity to add two further goals.
But despite the brave efforts, Worcester's ninth came via Claire Hates five minutes from time.

Worcester took control of this National Veterans Knockout Cup second round match right from the start with some fast and fluid play. Slick passing moves brought the goals and the score could have been higher had players not over elaborated.
Mid-way through the second-half Worcester's midfield began to fade, allowing the visitors to strike back with two well taken goals.
