JAN Molby has read the riot act to his players ahead of their clash with League Two high-fliers Scunthorpe United at Aggborough on Saturday.
In his most frank assessment so far of the club's struggles this season, the Harriers boss branded his team "desperate".
His angry blast came after Kidderminster sunk to an all time low with their demoralising 3-0 defeat at Lincoln City.
Molby kept his players in the Sincil Bank dressing room for 45 minutes after the final whistle for a post match post mortem.
He said: "Looking at the players even before kick off, you're thinking, we're just not looking forward to this.
"I know we're a young team but the one thing you should have as a youngster is enthusiasm.
"We're not losing games because other teams are better than us, we're conceding too much ground in terms of competing .
"At the moment we look a desperate team."
Molby has warned his players that unless they get their acts together they are jeopardising their own and the club's Football League futures.
"I've said to the players if they want to remain being professional footballers then the only way they're going to do that is to start winning games and make sure they retain their status in professional football.
"There's a record when teams get relegated that players have got nowhere to go and it would be the same at Kidderminster Harriers.
"We're in a situation where we've got 34 games to go but we have to start winning some games.
"To do that we need to show a lot more enthusiasm and a lot more will an want."
The Aggborough boss says he prepares his players to the best of his ability, but ultimately their motivation must come from within.
"I would like to think that everybody cares," he said. "I never ask anybody to play for the club or for me, but to play for themselves.
"I would like to think any man in any walk of life, whether he lays bricks or plays professional football, has some kind of self respect.
"That in the end should be enough for everybody to say well he does care.
"But at the moment you can throw all sorts of accusations at the team and we've no defence, I accept that."
