MOVIE MAKERS' CLUB: Illness, holidays and two members attending the Guernsey International Amateur Film and Video Festival, in which Evesham had an entry, meant that there were only eight members at the October meeting.
After the usual business items, members discussed the Live Event for the November meeting.
Amongst the ideas put forward was a musical evening by some of the club's members which the rest would film. If this can be arranged it will take place on Friday, November 12, instead of November 5.
A short discussion then took place on writing a Shooting Script and a format for writing these was agreed.
Films about 'The Day in the Life of . . .' was next. Two members had made films for this exercise. Alison Bambury made a film about a pumpkin and David Gittins about a sheep being rescued from a canal.
Next was the John Lucas Trophy competition. Three films were entered, Evesham Vale Light Railway by Brian Bambury, Cruising White Rose of Hamble by David Gittins and Charlecote Park by Graham Corbett. Brian collected the trophy and a voucher for £10 for his entry.
Members Choice was cancelled owing to illness, so a film called 'Dance of the Flowers', scripted and directed by Roy Carn, edited by Brian Bambury and starring Sheila Lucas and Alison Bambury, was shown instead
Anyone interested in joining the club should contact Brian Bambury on 01386-830863. Details of the club can be seen at www.eveshammoviemakers.co.uk.
ART SOCIETY: The annual exhibition at the Town Hall on Heritage weekend had around 100 pictures on display and was well received although members were a little disappointed in the number of visitors at the local Fly the Flag exhibition. Also in September, Alcester artist Peter Kotka showed his methods to produce wonderful still life paintings in oils.
On Wednesday, members are looking forward to welcoming the artist Austin Moseley to talk about oil techniques with a slide presentation.
Outdoor painting days have now finished until next year.
The November meeting will be six members, each with a painting and sketchbooks and the December meeting is replaced by the Christmas lunch.
Evesham Art Society meets at The Friends Meeting House, Cowl Street, Evesham at 7.15pm for 7.30pm on the third Wednesday of each month except December, Non-members welcomed - entrance £2 to include coffee and biscuits.
