IN answer to Gary Webb, I wonder who is he trying to fool, because for someone who neither supports nor opposes hunting, his sentiments are very sympathetic to the pro-hunting debate.
His letter very conveniently ignored the animal cruelty involved in foxhunting. He chose instead, to make spurious comments about battery chickens and intensively farmed animals.
The letter also claimed, foxhunting "is all about class war." I agree - landowners object to walkers using public footpaths on their land, but allow the tally-ho brigade unhindered access to all their land with open arms.
As for "imposing the will of the masses on the minority," I signed anti-hunt petitions when John Major was still Prime Minister. The Labour Party has since won two General Elections by the democratic process. This is a more civilised method than minority mob rule.
