IF the Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate for Worcester really wants to save special needs schools in Worcester as she claims in your report (Evening News, Wednesday, October 6) she should have a word with her Worcestershire County Council colleagues.
Less than three months ago, all the Conservative and Labour cabinet members voted in favour of closing a Worcester special school, ignoring the strongly expressed wishes of parents.
Only the Liberal Democrat cabinet member, Councillor Tom Wells, who called the proposal "institutional vandalism", and an Independent cabinet member from Kidderminster voted against the closure.
Do the Tories really know what they stand for any more?
MARGARET ROWLEY,
Prospective Liberal Democrat MP,
Mid-Worcestershire.
