PARENTS, teachers, governors and pupils of Willersey Church of England Primary School celebrated the opening of their new play area at an official ceremony.
The Foundation Stage Play area, which is primarily for foundation stage pupils under the age of five, was funded by a £10,000 donation from Cotswold Conference Centre.
Mr Jorgen Philip-Sorensen chairman and owner of the Cotswold Conference Centre officially opened the new play area on Wednesday.
Mr Philip-Sorensen gave a talk to the children about the value of education and the impact of play.
Fiona Arnison, head teacher at the school said: "We are calling it the outdoor classroom. It's an extension of the classroom into a more informal setting.
We were pleased with the amount of people who came to the opening." The play area has toys, a sandpit, and a water area.
It was completed in six weeks over the summer.
