MORE than 60 people stepped out in force to support their local branch of the Alzheimer's Society for the Memory Walk 2004 at Wyre Forest Visitor Centre, Callow Hill.
Kidderminster mayor, Councillor Siri Haywood, started the woodland trek, which was attended by people of all ages and abilities.
It was one of more than 70 similar events being staged across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, all marking World Alzheimer's Day.
Eunice Prichard, chairman of the Kidderminster branch, said: "We were thrilled with the level of support that this year's Memory Walk achieved. Thanks to all of those who took part.
"It's given us a great boost and plans are now under way for a concert at St Anne's Church, Bewdley, in January."
Funds raised are to support and offer advice to carers of people with dementia.
For more information about the branch, ring 01562 823800 or call into the office at 83 New Road, Kidderminster.
