I CANNOT believe the short sightedness of the council regarding Shipston on Stour's new pool.
After all the criticism of swimming facilities and time allowed in the pool for potential Olympian's in the UK at the 2004 Olympics one would have thought our local council would have taken notice especially as they have a wealth of talent within their very own Stratford Sharks no less that two individuals on potential Olympic squads for 2008!
On top of this a great opportunity to bring regular business to the town of Shipston by staging regular galas and water polo matches which would bring in 500 plus visitors to the town, some staying over night and a very good revenue to the new pool.
Many Stratford Shark members contacted the council with this information and the pool manager also informed them but at no time has he been consulted.
The present plans for the pool, I can only imagine will be supported by raising our community tax.
A not very happy resident.
