A DIVORCED Kidderminster man sent text messages to his former partners suggesting he intended to take his own life, an inquest heard.

Worcestershire coroner Victor Round said on Tuesday that Timothy Gough, of Windsor Drive, had indicated on several occasions before that was going to kill himself.

But this time the 52-year-old handyman did carry out his threats.

He was found dead on Friday, September 10, in his Ford Escort, which had the engine running and a pipe leading into the vehicle.

Police had been called to a field at Eymore Lane, Trimpley, when a passer-by had spotted the unemployed man's car parked.

He had been dead for some time, the inquest heard.

At the conclusion of the inquest into his death, Mr Round said no note had been found in the car, but that Mr Gough "sent various text messages" to his ex-partners, suggesting his intentions.

Dr George Kondratowicz gave the cause of death as carbon monoxide poisoning and Mr Round recorded a verdict of suicide.
