VISITORS to Worcester Woods Country Park can get fruity at a free two-day event next weekend.
Local fruits will be the theme of the event on Saturday and Sunday, October 23 and 24, with a cider press as the focal point.
People are encouraged to bring along their own fruit and have it squeezed into juice which they can take home.
A variety of traditional local apples will be on display as well as a chance to bring Worcestershire's fruit tree heritage back into their gardens with the opportunity to buy potted fruit trees.
The event is being organised by Worcestershire County Council's Countryside Services and Worcester City's Greenspace Project.
"This is a great opportunity to come along and find out more about the county's rich heritage of fruit production, try some fresh apple juice and even buy a Worcestershire fruit tree," said Wade Muggleton, Worcestershire County Council's senior wider countryside officer.
Once famed for its fruit production and orchards the county has seen numbers diminish over the last 100 years.
The event takes place from 10am to 3pm both days. For more information, contact Mr Muggleton on 01905 766491.
