AN outstanding evening would be an understatement to describe the harvest supper held at the Farmers Arms.
Congratulations to Jill and Julie and their excellent team for an excellent repast. Thank you to Reverend Joy Birkin for leading us in our short harvest thanksgiving service and to our wonderful auctioneers Dave and Pete for not only providing entertainment, but also extracting the optimum amount of cash from each item donated for sale.
We certainly had a full house in more ways than one and this netted a total of £650, which has been divided equally between Birtsmorton and Hollybush parish churches. We are indebted to everyone who gave items and entered into the spirit of the occasion. We were then able to welcome Rev Mike Rogers and his lovely wife Margaret into our community and wish them a long and happy stay in our benefice.
Jill and Julia, if you are willing, please can we have the same again for 2005?
