HATS, handbags, shoes and scarves will be among an array of hand-made items tempting shoppers in what has been dubbed Worcester's fashion highlight of the year.

The goods will go on sale as part of the first "Passion for Fashion" event in the city's Guildhall - and it's all in the name of charity.

More than 27 stalls will take part in the fund-raiser, generating cash for St Richard's Hospice, based in Rose Hill, near the city centre, which provides care and support for adults with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Fashion fanatics will be able to buy everything from beautiful underwear and linen clothing to fine jewellery, fabulous hats and beauty products.

Many of the stall-holders will be from Worcestershire and Herefordshire-based firms that have a reputation for quality, individual items.

Event organiser and St Richard's community fund-raiser Alison Weston said: "If you are looking for an extra-special Christmas gift for someone or just treating yourself, you will be sure to find something lovely at Passion for Fashion.

"Entry is free so why not pop in and enjoy a rare treat of all these fantastic items under one roof."

Goods will include fashion accessories from Upton-upon-Severn's Artichou, children's clothing from Cottontails, based in Pershore, exclusive underwear from the Inkberrow Design Centre and jewellery from Powick's Janis Waldon.

And there will be a private view and sale on Friday, October 22, when Malvern-based auctioneer Phillip Serrell, of BBC Flog It and Bargain Hunt fame, will take bids for items donated by stall holders and Worcester city centre shops.

If you would like an invitation to the Friday evening preview please telephone the St Richard's fund-raising team on 01905 763963.

Passion for Fashion will be open to the general public on Saturday, October 23, from 9am to 4pm.
