MALVERN Ladies travelled to league leaders Worcester City and won a hard-fought game 2-0.
WORCESTER CITY 0, MALVERN LADIES 2
Malvern found the windy conditions difficult in the first half but created some good chances, Emily Prosser hitting the crossbar with a good volley. The Malvern defence played well to repel any attacks.
With the wind behind them in the second half Malvern put together some nice moves and took the lead when the ball ran loose, sweeper Heidi Barlow hitting an unstoppable 40 yard shot into the roof of the net. Malvern continued to press forward and went 2-0 ahead when a headed effort from Emily Prosser rebounded to Stacie Doyle who lashed the ball home from six yards.
Worcester tried to reduce arrears but found Jenny Shail in good form in the Malvern goal.
Malvern Ladies are at home on Sunday (October 17) at Langland Stadium against Fairfield Villa, 2pm kick off.
Malvern Ladies are sponsored by First Floor Flooring.
