I congratulate Terry Ford (Your Letters, October 8) for his intelligent condemnation of the proposals for Great Malvern Station.

There are even more good reasons for rejecting this and I am sure Terry will be pleased to know his district councillors, Philip Rumney and I, have given Halcrow a joint letter of objection to the scheme.

We also attended the exhibition and were pleased to find several members of the public there to object, some in very strong terms.

I should, however, remind him that Malvern Town Council rejected (almost unanimously) the idea of what he called a 'wretched contraption' (a new bus shelter) on Belle Vue Terrace.

His letter continues to emphasise the fact there are too many councils, often pulling different ways, but always at the taxpayer's expense.
