POLICING in Malvern will be debated at a meeting on Thursday, October 28.
The town council has invited Chief Supt Simon Adams to address a public meeting at Priory Lodge Hall, Avenue Road, at 7.30pm.
This follows a town council meeting at 6pm and was arranged after councillors and members of the public expressed concerns about Malvern's police service.
Topics the council has asked Mr Adams to discuss include the lack of a visible presence by beat officers, the role of the neighbourhood warden, the pattern of crime within Malvern and response times following an incident being reported.
The remoteness of call centres from Malvern, the manning of the front desk at Malvern Police Station and new initiatives to cut crime will also be under discussion. Chief Supt Adams will give a 30-minute presentation followed by a question and answer session.
