JOHN Snape is expected to make a run-out in the Worcester City reserves tomorrow at Bromsgrove Rovers in the first round of the Challenge Bowl.
Player-coach Snape has not appeared for City during the 2004/05 campaign after struggling with a hamstring injury since pre-season.
He is hoping to play for about an hour in the fixture, which is also likely to feature Mark Owen, Liam McDonald, Lewis Skyers and Tom Warmer.
The 36-year-old was expected to make his comeback last month in a Central Conference fixture at Kidderminster Harriers but pulled out after requiring an injection to strengthen his hamstring attachment.
Snape said: "I've done about two nights training this week and I've not had any reoccurance of the injury so that's a good thing.
"It will be nice to finally get a game under my belt. I don't think I'm ready for a full game though, I'll probably play for about 45 to 60 minutes. Hopefully, I'll then be able to have another training session or two and put myself back into contention."
Meanwhile, City's stand-in goalkeeper Aaron Kerr yesterday had his right leg plastered at a hospital in Belfast.
The Northern Ireland U21 star ruptured lateral knee ligaments during City's 0-0 draw against Alfreton Town last Friday.
