BADMINTON star Simon Archer shone once again yesterday with partner Robert Blair by booking their spot in the quarter-finals of the Yonex German Open.
Worcester-based Archer, 31, and Blair defeated Chinese pair Gu Lian and Ju Lian 15/9, 13/15, 15/5 in the last 16 at the Rhein-Rhur Hall in Duisburg and now take on Japan's Sho Sasaki and Shoji Sato this afternoon.
The British pair caused the biggest upset of the tournament on Wednesday when they overcame world champions and the tournament's top seeds, Danish duo Lars Paaske and Jonas Rasmussen, in the opening round 17/14, 17/14.
