SQUASH enthusiasts were able to see their sport played at the highest level at Manor Park on Saturday.
Two of the world's top players enthralled spectators with their stroke-play and incredible retrieving skills that often had the crowd gasping in disbelief.
Manor Park chairman John Oakley said: "The event went off really well and we were delighted by the player's attitude. I have even had an e-mail from John (White) on behalf of both players saying how much they had enjoyed it and they would be happy to come back again.
"They were in no hurry to get off and spent plenty of time just chatting to people following our question and answer session."
England's Peter Nicol recently deposed to world number two and number seven ranked John White of Scotland were in action at the Malvern courts to celebrate recent refurbishments at the club.
The pair each played one game against a procession of 14 Manor Park members and most players came off court out of breath but happy at having taking at least one point from their illustrious opponents, who soon gauged the oncoming player's ability.
The exhibition game, won 3-1 by John White, provided a level of squash rarely witnessed by the average club player and was enjoyed by the 70 spectators.
Mr Oakley said the club was almost certain to hold a similar event in the future.
