SO now we know the real reason we lost our High Street trees. They would have made the re-paving currently going on impossible.
Nothing to do with the justification trotted out by the "spokesman" which ranged from attracting pigeons to complaints by local traders, via my favourite "that the trees obscured the street-cameras"- as if anyone, police, councillors ever watches those.
And as for the original promise of October for the re-planting... never been on the agenda!
