EVESHAM based Dawn Foods, one of the world's largest independently-owned bakery manufacturers, has been recognised for consistently meeting or exceeding the standards for product safety and quality.

The US-owned company, of Worcester Road, has for the first time achieved the superior rating for the American Institute of Baking (AIB) certification.

It can now add this to the European Food Safety Inspection Service (EFSIS) Higher Level Certificate of Conformity, which it has again won for the seventh year running.

"Providing high standards of food production is of paramount importance to both us and our customers," said Dawn Foods' technical director, Chris Wells.

"These accreditations provide reassurance for our customers that we have the highest levels of competency and quality. It is also a great reward for the tremendous effort everyone at Dawn has put in to get us up to the AIB superior rating."

US owned Dawn Foods is known for its high standards of product quality and customer service, and excels in supplying high quality American style mixes, bases, icings, part-finished and fully finished products.

It employs 150 people in Evesham and has a worldwide total annual turnover of more than $1billion.
