Headless Cross 3,
Evesham Utd Ladies 5
A HAT-TRICK from Nicky Bond helped United to a deserved victory against league newcomers Headless Cross on Sunday.
The visitors found themselves two goals up inside the opening 15 minutes courtesy of goals from Bond and Lisa Tustin.
Evesham were now in control and should have increased their advantage when a cross from Tori Southern bounced awkwardly and ricocheted off Tustin into the goalkeeper's hands.
Tustin and Charlotte Benson-Wilson both went close before Cross hit back to halve the deficit before the break.
United, however, regained their two-goal cushion seven minutes into the second half when Danielle Hemming's throw-in found Bond with her back to goal but the diminutive striker swivelled to plant a superb shot into the roof of the net.
Lola Hughes then had a shot cleared off the line before the hosts again hit back with a penalty that Mandy Upton got a hand to but couldn't not prevent the ball from crossing the line.
Opposite number Randall did well to parry Benson-Wilson's tremendous shot, but Bond was quickest to react and headed the ball into the net to complete her hat-trick.
Benson-Wilson scored the goal of the game two minutes from time to cap a fine display. Picking up the ball wide on the right, she cut inside and curled a superb 25- yard shot into the roof of the net.
The scoring wasn't over as the Redditch side continued to battle and caught out a static Robins' defence for a third time.
