WORCESTER City striker Mark Owen continues to impress on his comeback from injury after scoring a brace for the reserves in the 6-0 win against Bromsgrove Rovers in the first round of the Midland Combination Challenge Bowl.
Owen put in a fine performance at the Victoria Ground as he looks to get himself fully fit for City's Nationwide North clash at Southport this Saturday.
The 27-year-old was sidelined for the opening two months of the campaign after injuring his right knee in City's pre-season defeat at Halesowen Town.
Owen made his first-team comeback against Alfreton Town on October 9.
City's player-coach John Snape, who has been suffering with a hamstring injury since pre-season, also returned to action and played for 70 minutes in the Challenge Bowl tie.
Liam McDonald opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Owen grabbed the first of his double. City youngster Luke Whittington then scored twice before and after the interval, followed by strikes from James Smith and Owen.
