LATEST: A body discovered in the River Severn at the weekend has been identified as Denville Smith - a Worcester man who had been missing for 11 days.
The 57-year-old carpenter, of Blenheim Road, St John's, was known as "Ernie" to his friends and had last been seen on Wednesday, October 6.
Police had already dredged the Severn once before they found Mr Smith's body in the river at Ripple, near Upton-upon-Severn, just before 1pm on Sunday.
An inquest into his death was due to be opened and adjourned at Worcestershire Coroner's Court, in Stourport-on-Severn, at 1pm today.
Mr Smith, who was epileptic, was last seen as he cycled to work in the Diglis area of Worcester.
