SQUASH: Club Ventura made their long-awaited return to the top flight of the Worcestershire League with a comfortable victory over Evesham.
After taking the division two title last season, Ventura skipper, Stuart Harris, has bolstered with the introduction of Dean Jackson from Barnt Green.
Jonathan Whitehead gave Ventura a fine start by easily beating Ian Stuart 9-4, 9-1, 9-2 and Tim Hollingsworth made it 2-0 to the home side by defeating Ian Bamford 9-6, 9-1, 8-10, 9-5 in convincing fashion.
New boy Jackson then overwhelmed Martin Kiff 9-1, 9-0, 9-4 to ensure a Ventura victory and although James Bralee lost out to Evesham's Brett Green, Stuart Harris played a captains role in his win over Glen Danks 9-7, 3-9, 10-9, 9-5.
And the first team remain unbeaten after a 3-2 win over Stourport seconds.
