ALCESTER RFC skipper Brett Allard decided to pull his team out of the Powergen Junior Vase second round tie at Worcester Wanderers on Saturday due to a lack of players.
The decision conceded the game to the Sixways side who remain unbeaten in the league above Alcester.
Allard had just four or five fit players due to injury and unavailability.
It is the first time in well over a decade Alcester have struggled to put sides out in two games this season.
Grant Skidmore's 2nd XV were formed into an "A" side for the visit of Kidderminster.
But the visitors cried off leaving Alcester with a blank weekend which allowed the club's newly formed veterans side to take centre stage.
