REDDITCH Golf Club stunned opposition by claiming two English titles at the 2004 grand final of the International Pairs at Cardrona Golf Club in the Scottish Borders.
Jayne Freeman, a 14-handicapper, and Kathy Reid, who plays off 25, finished third in the ladies' competition with 50 points - but it was good enough to earn them the English title.
And Janice Kerr and Julian Bates. who have handicaps of three and eight respectively secured the English mixed title by finishing second behind the overall winners John Munro and Jackie Brown, from Scotland.
Chris Fanning and Chris Bromley narrowly missed out on completing a unique hat-trick for the Worcestershire club after finishing joint fifth in the overall competition - just one point adrift of the English men's title.
Tournament director Pete Richardson said: "There must be some tremendous golf played at Redditch for their pairings to do so well at this event.
"The club has always been very active in promoting the International Pairs event and this is not the first time a pairing from Redditch has walked off with a trophy.
"There must be something in the water near there. They've all done remarkably well and we will have to pay special attention to the qualifiers from Redditch next year."
