STRIKER Andy Johnson made a welcome return to action in a Studley shirt on Saturday despite the Bees going down by two first-half goals.

Johnson exited the Beehive at the start of the season to join Oldbury United, but his return has left Bees boss Kevin Rowlands "chuffed to bits".

Rowlands said: "All the reasons I gave him to stay when I took over he's taken on board and I'm chuffed to have him back.

"AJ's far from the finished article, but I'm looking forward to working with him - he's no stranger to the club, he's got a great attitude and tons of ability."

Rowlands has also hinted that old Studley favourite Steve Hands could also be making his way to the club as well as Martin Kite.

A fifth-minute opener from Dominic Brown and a Chris McGrath strike scuppered any chances of a win for the Bees on Saturday.

Rowlands blamed a below- par performance from five or six of his players as the cause

He said: "We've had a couple of good results of late, but on Saturday we just didn't perform.

"Oadby aren't far from top and they're a nice footballing side, but these teams aren't unbeatable and we did have four or five good openings, but didn't put any away."

Studley have a break from league action on Saturday before starting their league cup campaign at home to Loughborough.
