REDDITCH and Worcester councillors will prove they're not out of their depths and more than able to make a splash when it comes to dealing with young people during an event at Arrow Valley Lake on Friday.
As part of Local Democracy Week, Councillor Bill Hartnett and County Councillor Diane Thomas will be joined by fellow councillors and 30 residents from Redditch and Bromsgrove YMCA to have fun on the water.
With the help of Youth Afloat, groups will be involved in team exercises such as raft building, which will also include testing their vessels on the lake.
After the practical exercises, there will be a session based on the Electoral Commission's "I don't do Politics" campaign.
County council area democracy officer Jenny Murray said: "The whole focus of this day will be about the power of democracy and citizenship. We plan to actively involve councillors so they will be donning wetsuits and getting muddy."
